General Summary General - The Product Manager position is responsible for supporting Company Douglas China\\\'s marketing efforts. Policy Making Responsibility - The Product Manager will be responsible for providing input and making recommendations towards policies associated with the job\\\'s purpose and essential responsibilities. Decision Making Responsibility - Routine decisions include, but are not limited to, decision in regard to quality and procurement of materials used in fabrication. Supervisory Responsibility - This position has no supervisory responsibility. Safety - Employees are responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, regulations and policy procedures. Essential Responsibilities The essential functions of this position may include any or all of the following, to be performed alone, or with assistance from others: Strategy and Business Development Task A.) Logistical Strategy and Development B.) Distribution Business-to-Business schedule and development C.) Business analysis of competition, financial forecasting, product forecasting, and financial performance D.) Conducts marketing analysis to develop product definitions E.) Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product F.) Coordinates and develops marketing, sales, engineering and financial plans for product line G.) Provides financial and technical justification for product selection and definition H.) Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule and sales information for product line Sales and Operations Support Task I.) Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities J.) Produces competitive analysis materials comparing product with its competitors K.) Establishes dealer networks and creates and manages alliances with vendors, manufacturers, and other supply channels. L.) Conceptual design of sampling M.) Development of product information packages including fab info, catalogs, and price guides N.) Participates in key sales situations for the product O.) Keep an active and current competitive profile P.) Provide day-to-day support to sales and fabricators. Product Development Task Q.) Development of new products R.) Enhance existing product assortment S.) Provide technical expertise and knowledge of responsible products T.) Coordinates technical product development, estimates of potential sales and profits, and release to production U.) Manages day-to-day progress of product. V.) Provides technical expertise and training to other departments in support of product development W.) Provides financial and technical justification for product selection and definition X.) Prepares product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market. Y.) Conducts market research and identifies and tracks market trends in industry Z.) Identifies partnering opportunities for complimentary third-party products to broaden company\\\'s product line Essential Job Activities It is essential that the Product Manager spend 75% of his/her time at a workstation to perform the job. Hours of work - The normal work hours for this position are 40+ per week, beginning daily between 8:30 and 9:00 AM on a consistent basis. Occasional travel, including out of town and overnight travel to visit customers, trade shows and attend training seminars is also required. Travel is estimated to be less than 10% of work time.

Education, Experience and Skills The Product Manager position has the following required (or preferred, as indicated) education, experience and skills: Education: Required: A four-year bachelor\\\'s degree from an accredited college or university Experience: Preferred: Two or more years in consumer goods marketing Basic knowledge of project management Wide range of knowledge in marketing communications and advertising Skills1: Required: \\\" Highly-developed and continuously-improving verbal and written communication skills to include proofreading skills \\\" Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English \\\" Ability to interface affectively with cross-functional associates and business partners at all levels \\\" Ability to utilize creative-thinking and problem -solving techniques \\\" Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and assignments \\\" Solid knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Illustrator software \\\" Continuous improvement of supervisory and negotiation skills \\\" Ability to work in a team environment and solicit the assistance of others \\\" Ability to conduct work in a self-directed manner with limited supervision \\\" Compliance with Company Douglas policies and codes of conduct Evaluation criteria The Product Manager\\\'s performance will be accessed periodically as deemed necessary by management, but no less than annually.
